Towel Fox emerged from the creative synergy between Timothy Fleming and Matt Stoltz. Fueled by a shared passion for music and a desire to forge meaningful connections through their craft, they laid the the ground work for what the group is today: a family of like-minded musicians dedicated to eliciting happiness through the music they create.
Members:
Timothy Fleming | Bass, Auxiliary Percussion, Guitar
Matt Stoltz | Lead/Rhythm Guitar, Vocals
Matt has been playing guitar for over 20 years and song writing for nearly 10. He loves all things guitar, the history of rock n roll, and the gear used by all the greats. A tone guru with an extensive knowledge of pedals and effects, Matt finds sonic influence in everything from John Prine to the Red Hot Chili Peppers. He also enjoys making ambient lofi electronica with drum machines and synthesizers. When he gets free time he dedicates it to his wife Kendra, dog Lucy, and his leather working hobby (hopefully soon business), Stoltz Lederwaren.
Ryan Adams | Drums, Vocals
A native of Middle Tennessee with an exceptional ear, Ryan taught himself to play drums and guitar at an early age. His drumming is influenced by Bonham and Grohl, but his jazz, theatre pit orchestra, and session training has him reining it in – only occasionally emulating Animal from the Muppets. Ryan re-connected with old friends to add his unique flavor of percussion to the group. An enthusiast of backup vocals, his harmonies can be heard reaching out from behind the kit at any Towel Fox show. Though he modestly calls himself the “4th best guitarist in the band” Ryan is also a proficient guitarist with a razor-edge tone.
Austin Caldwell | Lead/Rhythm Guitar, Bass, Vocals, Horns
Austin is a seasoned musician with over two decades of experience weaving melodies and rhythms. Having grown up listening to everything from Motown to Grunge, he has crafted his own unique style that incorporates clean/vintage tones while remaining relevant in today’s musical landscape. A diverse musician, he enjoys playing Cornet in a community orchestra between writing and recording with Towel Fox.
